To optimise ball flight and maximise distance while retaining the highest MOI in PING’s history, a 25-gram, high-density tungsten backweight can be moved to position the CG for delivering ±8 yards change between the Draw, Neutral and Fade setting.

The MAX and SFT models utilise lighter backweights (11g), the Alta Quick shaft and lighter grip to deliver more ball speed with extreme forgiveness. In testing, slower-swing-speed players gained on average nine yards with the HL build.

New to the SFT head is a moveable, 22-gram tungsten backweight that positions the CG to deliver 13 yards of right-to-left shot correction in the Draw setting, and another 7 yards in the Draw+ (20 yards total).

G425 MAX elevates the moment of inertia to PING’s highest level in history. Forgiveness comes mainly from a 26-gram tungsten movable weight, made possible by weight savings from advancements in the driver’s dragonfly crown technology. The draw-biased SFT model (Straight-Flight Technology) is engineered to bring shots back on-line and into the fairway. A fixed 23-gram tungsten weight shifts the CG closer to the heel to accentuate right-to-left shot bend (RH golfers) compared to the G425 Max. The proprietary T9S+ forged face increases flexing and helps add distance.
